Bug of the week: Aphodius ater

The trend of dung beetle features continues. This is a species that was included in the experiment which has become the first paper from my PhD (hooray!). You most often find this particular species in older dung, typically in the crust. A single sheep dropping can house up to over sixty individual beetles (although in my experience, that would be an unusually large aggregation).
